LEGIO III CYRENAICA

CAESAR'S CONQUERORS

Historical Re-enactment Unit

Military and historical re-enactment is a growing hobby and outdoors activity that is becoming immensely popular in our country and elsewhere. Each era in history may be suitable to be re-enacted, and probably there is someone already involved in its making. However, after being exposed by blockbuster films, some periods in particular are becoming huge all around the world, with as many groups of followers, and a blooming industry for related equipment.
From the Civil War in the United States; Napoleonic warfare in Europe; Roman and other ancient civilizations; and WWII all over the world; many men and women are putting their creative minds to work into designing living displays of history that are not only fun to do, but educational. The amount of detailed research necessary to complete one's equipment and persona is almost academic, and many times scientific in nature. This is a hobby for the history fan, the craftsman, the collector, the artist, the teacher, and the outdoors man; this can be a hobby for the family, and without any doubt, it is definitively a hobby for those who love adventure.

We are accepting applicants for Roman Legionnaire, citizens, and Gladiator/trix. Our Cohort specializes in infantry, gladiator and close quarters/hand to hand combat.  All techniques taught have been thoroughly researched. It is very interesting to see just how similar they are to some of  the hand and foot  techniques of the oriental arts taught at Northern Crane. Perhaps because they are all battlefield, not sport arts. The differences are mainly due to the different weapons used.

You do not need to be a member of the Northern Crane Martial Arts Association's Karate or Taijiquan study groups to join. Applications are now being accepted. Future Feature Film Production Companies are always scouting for talent from these units to fill positions in Roman Period Feature Films.
